Karen Wood
BExSc. MESSA. AEP.
Exercise Physiologist

I have been involved in the health and fitness industry for the last 15 years. Initially I completed a Certificate 3 & 4 in fitness and worked as a personal trainer, gym and group fitness instructor.
I then completed a 3 year Bachelor of Exercise Science Degree at Southern Cross University, Lismore. Since completing my degree I have worked in areas including Cardiac Rehabilitation, Respiratory Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. I have also had extensive experience in Occupational Rehabilitation.
For the last 11 years I have worked with a diverse range of people and health conditions and worked closely with General Practitioners and Insurers to achieve specific goals.
My original goal when I was a Uni student, was to work extensively with the Pilates Equipment due to its specific application for rehabilitation, sports performance, and core strength and stability. I have now made that dream a reality and work from a fully equipped Pilates Studio in Mullumbimby (3 Left Bank Road).
My experience reflects my passion for health and well being, and I pride myself in delivering training sessions that are safe and effective to help achieve your personal fitness and rehabilitation goals. I welcome the opportunity to train with you and to support you with up to date knowledge and technical advice, to ensure you get the maximum benefits from your sessions in an environment where you feel comfortable.
