PHYSIOLOGY

Exercise Physiologists are university qualified allied health professionals. Our role is to prescribe exercises to assist with physical and psychological health related conditions.

Exercise Physiologists are registered with Medicare Australia, the Department of Veterans Affairs and WorkCover. If eligible, you can claim on services and private health insurance. Exercise Physiologists also work with people who have an NDIS plan to assist with quality of life.

All claims are processed using the HICAPS payment method at the time of your appointment.

PILATES

Mullumbimby Exercise Physiology & Pilates is a fully equipped Pilates Studio incorporating the Pilates Reformer, Cadilac and Wonder Chair equipment.

To get started, we begin with an initial Musculoskeletal Assessment to determine an exercise program specific to your needs and level of ability, and to correct muscle imbalances.

The advantages of working with the Pilates equipment include:

  • Exercises can be performed while being fully supported without undue loading to the spine and supporting joints.

  • The equipment offers very specific and precise exercises for rehabilitation of the spine.

  • Core training is incorporated into every exercise and can cater for clients from beginner to advanced.

  • Exercises can incorporate the use of the bigger global muscles and challenge the joint stabilisers to ensure you have an optimal function and postural awareness.

BONE HEALTH &
OESTEOPOROSIS

If you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia then an exercise program is essential.

Osteoporosis is loss of bone scaffolding that causes weakness and a knock-on effect of greater risk of fractures.

Rebuilding strength in your bones is achievable through a series of treatments including resistance exercises like Pilates. 

We work alongside your medical team to ensure your exercise program is both safe and long-lasting.
