I have trained with Karen Wood for more than 6 years, having met her at the excellent and creative fitness classes she designed and ran at Spirit Gym, Byron Bay. The hour a week I spend with Karen keeps me on track with my overall fitness and wellbeing program. It is varied and interesting and Karen is always sensitive and alert, positive and encouraging. I have referred friends to her and it has been helpful to discuss the rehabilitation program of my mother who recently had a knee replacement operation.

I have known Karen Wood for over a year and was recommended to her by my doctor after previously having a stroke. “My name is Emily; I am 54 years of age and have been a practising registered nurse for 33 years. I slipped on a wet floor whilst at work and as a result sustained an injury to my lower spine. I am passionate about my nursing career and my goal has always been to return to full pre-injury duties - I must say that the road to full recovery has been long!

Karen inspired me; I wanted to achieve each goal that was set and she always made me feel good about what I was doing and we had fun along the way. Even though it was tiring at first, the results of the 3 month gym program set and assessed by Karen was really starting to pay off. My fitness and overall strength was improving quite rapidly.
